To switch from Vista to XP, you have to reboot the computer; Vista is completely forgotten before XP ever gets loaded. The same thing happens with two installations of Vista all your applications and perhaps some drivers. But after the first week, you should see significantly less of such annoyances. Enjoy! RC.

I'm using Vista Ultimate x64 so I suppose it's set up for Unicode. The locale for non-unicode apps is Swedish. Maybe I should be more clear as what I mean with changing to English locale. By that I mean going into the "Regional and Language Options" in the Control Panel and change the Current Format to English

The more little annoyances that crept in to my system the more avidly I decontaminated my system with the registry cleaners until it all crashed catastrophically. After that I reinstalled Windows Vista and I have never used a registry cleaner since. My system has remained stable for months.
